In his last 2 starts, Correia has allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in 14.2 innings. This month, the 28-year old Cal Poly SLO product has lowered his ERA from 5.11 to 4.26.

Most consider Correia a 4th or 5th pitcher, but right now, he is the only Padre pitching well, what with Jake Peavy on the DL and Chris Young, Chad Gaudin, Josh Geer, Wade Sliva and Shawn Hill sporting ERAs over five.
