MLB.com reports that top Atlanta pitching prospect Julio Teheran will make his Major League Debut Saturday in Philadelphia. Teheran is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA for Triple A Gwinnett this season.
Here's a blast from the past - former Benedict southpaw Rich Hill has resurfaced in the Major Leagues, this time again for Boston. Hill was 11-8, 3.92, 1.194 in 2007 for Chicago and the Benedicts, but fell into the abyss as his command abandoned him in 2008. Hill made six appearances late last year for the Red Sox. We wish him well.
Andre Ethier has extended his hitting streak to 30 games with a first inning single tonight against the New York Mets.
