Who's Hot & Who's Not

April is in the books and whether the Benedicts are contenders or pretenders remains an open question.

Who's Hot?

Andre Ethier has hit safely in 26 consecutive games and finished April at .380/.446/.556.

Brandon Beachy has a 1.89 ERA and 0.579 ratio in his last 3 starts - he has allowed 8 hits and 3 walks with 19 strikeouts over 19 innings in this stretch.

Has Matt Garza turned a corner? It appears possibly so: he has a 1.80 ERA and 1.050 ratio with 26 strikeouts in 20 innings over his last 3 starts.

Ian Kennedy has a 1.64 ERA and 0.727 ratio over his last 3 starts.

Lefty specialist Michael Dunn has not earned a call to the active roster yet, but we have indeed noticed of his 0.00 ERA, 1.034 ratio and 14 strikeouts in 9.2 innings pitched.

Kyle Parker will not be in Asheville long at this rate - he is .381/.431/.556 in his first 17 games in the Sally League.

Julio Teheran is 3-0, 1.80, 1.100 in his first 5 starts at AAA Gwinnett.

Expect to see Homer Bailey back in Cincinnati soon has he has been dominant in his Louisville rehab stint. In 3 starts (16.2 innings), he has a 0.54 ERA and 0.900 ratio with 14 strikeouts against 4 walks.

Who's Not?

Freddie Sanchez is hitting .234/.250/.340 in the last two weeks.

Chase Headley has suffered from flu-like symptoms and the aftermath since April 22. Headley hit .235/.316/.294 last week. That's some flu.

Danny Espinosa was 2-24 in his first week on the active roster.

Jonathan Villar has cooled his jets considerable after a hot start in Lancaster - he is just .125/.217/.225 in his last 10 games.
